woah hey surprise guys I'm not actually dead
Hello, all! I apologize for being totally absent from this website for like twenty years. Time flies really fast when you're not doing anything and I've been rather busy. I'm on tumblr literally every day, though, that's the place to find me. My blog-gy blog is right here-
[link] Unfortunately I'm the laziest son of a lampshade who ever lived and keeping up-to-date on deviantART is more effort than I remember to put in. I'm so sorry!
About me in these past months! Been very busy at work, working all day every day. But I love my job, so it's not a bad thing. I just get tuckered out.
My friend Shane directed a production of
Clue for his Senior Project and I was on stage crew for that. I had a great time being back at my old school and hanging out with friends new and old. It was nice to be in the theatre once again, although I've sworn off ever doing that again. As much as I love LHS and the theatre there, that part of my life is over and I'm moving on. Still, it was an awesome run, we had a good time. So that's all well and nice.
Speaking of theatre stuff though I'm currently taking an evening class at a theatre in Everett. I've only had one lesson so far (second one's tonight!) but I had an absolutely amazing time at the first one. It's the first outside acting project I've done since high school, the first stage I've ever been on that wasn't the one at my school. And everybody else in the class is super nice. I'm actually putting off finishing homework for it now so I should go work on that, but I procrastinate more than anything else in life but breathing.
Still working on applying for scholarships for college and stuff. I'm getting a little help from the HR manager at work and also motivation from a very dear friend of mine. If anybody knows of any websites to search on, any little thing that could help me get money for school I would love you forever. I'm better than I was last year but still nowhere near close to what I need.
As always, I'm working on 87 bazillion different projects. Notable ones include a
Doctor Who fan webcomic with my friend Riannon; an spg fanbot for my friend

; a couple of stories; lots of fanart for my friend's RP blog on tumblr; art projects that I owe certain people; and various other characters, doodles, and fanarts that come in and out of my head. I'm very devoted to all of these but alas, I have the motivation of a rock. Still, my drawing has continued to improve with the use of practice and various online tutorials. So hopefully I'll actually get around to uploading the tons of art I've got sitting around onto here, and in the meantime you can find all of my drawings at least in my art page on tumblr.
I had the best day of my frickin' life on Saturday when Brisa and I went to see the Spring in Sepia show in Everett. Abney Park and Steam Powered Giraffe played a phenomenal concert at the Historic Everett Theatre. The day was amazing start to end, getting to meet and hang out with fanmily members from tumblr, meeting the band (we got pictures with Rabbit and Michael Reed!), and seeing all the incredible steampunks and cosplayers who attended. Phil Foglio (of the
Girl Genius comics) and Gail Carriger (of the
Parasol Protectorate books) were there, as well, and I got an autographed copy of the first
Girl Genius omnibus. Also Brisa just happened to be wearing the same boots as Jody Ellen from Abney Park. Needless to say we've had our steampunk fashion senses kicked into high gear and intend to put together some posh threads for ourselves as soon as we can.
Also, having missed every awesome convention in the Seattle area this year, I've got myself a list of cosplays I intend to do. I'll choose one to start working on soon, and absolutely will attend at least Emerald City Comic Con and Sakura-Con next year (hopefully Steamcon too)!!
I think that's about it for me... I should probably end this anyway before I think of anything else to ramble on for eighty more years. I got work to do! But anyway, I apologize once more for my absence. Thanks to everyone for being such bros!!
Stay fluffy, Biscuiteers.
~Marty
